Mahlun Fridhem is a 1996, 16.3hh, SWB Mare solid in the 3rd level movements, schooling some 4th level stuff, she would be a great asset for someone looking to move beyond training or first level or for someone coming to dressage from another discipline. She is not suitable for a rank beginner.
She competed in 2007 at 3rd level with scores in the sixties. In the spring of 2008 she was ridden by an amateur new to dressage and was Champion at the AJYR Show and Reserve Champion at Amberlea at first level with scores in the high sixties. |
She was vet checked Feb/09 and was sound and flexed out perfectly, she does not require maintenance or supplements.
She is located at Horizon Equestrian Centre in Cochrane and is offered for sale for $19,000.

Cindy Ishoy Dressage Symposium

Photo's by Briarwood Photography
more images on the gallery page
A clinic with Cindy Ishoy was held at the Calgary Stampede grounds on April 10th 11th and 12th. The symposium was featured as an event at Aggie Days. This proved to be a very exciting three days. During lunch breaks, a rodeo, complete with trick riders, bucking broncos, bull riders and native performers took over the dressage ring.
It was equally exciting to see a junior rider, with Cindy’s help, get her horse working on the bit and improve the quality of his paces. It was an inspiration to us all to watch Olympian (Cindy) helping Olympian (Bonny Bonnello) train piaffe, passage and one tempi’s.
Bonny and Betty Wells took to time to write, “Having participated in the Cindy Ishoy clinic we would like to thank Jenny Simpson of Carrots & Cocktails for her super job in organizing this event and the many sponsors who made it possible for us to ride in it.
Cindy’s years of international experience benefitted all levels of training. She is sympathetic and kind to the horses while demanding the riders to have soft feeling hands and allow their horses to work. Cindy is a very positive coach and we enjoyed her clinic immensely! Thank you Cindy!”
The riders commented that Cindy was a pleasure to ride with, approachable and just plain nice.
“She was encouraging with relaxed energetic coaching method making the lessons fun.” The riders found her exercises to be clear and always setting the horse and rider up for success. They discovered that most ride with their hands to high and “over ride” their horses.
They were told not to “micro-manage, let your horse do their job and keep the outside hand down, it is the balancing rein.” “Ride forward to a resisting hand – never pull.” There were also constant reminders to follow the training scale.
The clinic participants found the learning interesting and fun while the auditors gained a greater understanding of developing their equine athletes.

2005 A TRIBUTE TO SPONSORS AND VOLUNTEERS
On Sept. 25th, more than 60 sponsors and volunteers attended a cocktail party at Spruce Meadows. The event was hosted by Marsh Canada Ltd. for Carrots & Cocktails. Carrots & Cocktails is a Calgary based company organizing Dressage Shows.

The ambiance of Spruce Meadows and the delightful food and beverage supplied by their caterers created a friendly relaxed atmosphere.
Sponsors and volunteers were treated to a Dressage demonstration by Sherri Dumonceaux with her Grand Prix horse Kadans. While Sherri was riding; Doreen Horsey gave the spectators a lively and informative commentary on the technical aspects of this great sport. The mood was light with the enthusiastic group fielding interesting questions and showing a keen desire to learn more about Dressage.
