Class Descriptions

In the Dressage Seat Medal classes: Riders will be judged on their position, seat and its use, as well as effect of the aids required by the Training and First Level Dressage Tests. These movements shall be performed by the exhibitors, simultaneously, however, the judge may ask for independent execution of certain movements. These classes will have a Junior Division and an Adult Amateur Division.

Dressage Sport Horse In Hand: Horses shall be judged at the walk and trot on the triangle, and standing for conformation. This class is not mounted.

3 & 4 yr old Material Class: Limited to three and four year old horses and ponies. Horses will be mounted and shown in both directions at a walk, trot and canter. Horses/ponies will not be asked to gallop, but may be asked to lengthen the stride at trot. Horses will be judged on 60% paces, 30% conformation and 10% General Impression (including impulsion, balance, rideability, presence and suitability to Dressage).

Dressage Under Saddle: Judged on 60% movement, 30% Conformation and 10% General Impression (including impulsion, balance and rideability,)or horses may be placed with no actual scores awarded. Horses shall be judged at the walk, trot and canter in both directions.

Road Hack: Shown at the walk, trot and canter in both directions and may be asked to hand gallop. Judge would like to see a relaxed attitude in the horse and show it is a pleasure to ride.

Show Hack: Shown at the walk, trot and canter in both directions. Horses/ponies may be asked to lenghthen stride at trot and canter. Horse needs to show balance, vitality and presence.

Pleasure Hack:
Shown at a walk, normal trot and canter in both directions. To be judged on performance, manners and suitability of horse and rider.
